Alex Oh is Vice President of Intellectual Property at Visus Therapeutics. With over a decade of experience in planning and executing on IP and legal strategies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical, and medical device industries, Alex will be responsible for developing and leading Visus’ global intellectual property strategy.
Most recently, Alex served as Senior Counsel at Bristol Myers Squibb, where he formulated global IP strategy, managed patent procurement and portfolios, handled administrative proceedings, negotiated complex IP and corporate transactions, and oversaw external partnerships and collaborations. Prior to Bristol Myers Squibb, Alex was a Partner in the Technology & Intellectual Property group at Stoel Rives LLP, where he advised private and public companies, start-ups, and universities on global IP strategy, procurement and portfolio management, IP litigation and administrative proceedings, IP licensing, acquisitions and divestitures, patent infringement and validity analysis, and due diligence evaluations for corporate transactions. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Washington School of Law since 2011.
Alex holds a JD from the University of Wisconsin Law School, an MS in Biotechnology from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, and a BS in Neurobiology and a BS in Communication from the University of Washington.
