Carmen Capeluto is the Office Manager & Executive Assistant to the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Research and Development at Visus Therapeutics. Additionally, Carmen supports the Business Development and Marketing and Medical Affairs departments. She manages the day-to-day business activities of our Irvine office and provides executive administrative support for the leadership team.

Carmen brings over 20 years of experience in the ophthalmic pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Visus, she held various administrative roles of increasing responsibility, primarily at the C-Level, at Bausch + Lomb, ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Allergan Inc., and XOMA (US) LLC, preceded by 5 years of experience as an ophthalmic surgical technician at Advanced Eye Medical in Mission Viejo, CA.

Carmen holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from National University. Carmen will also support the Business Development/Marketing function, led by Jehan Tamboowalla and the Medical Affairs function, led by Julia Williams.
